Notice of Casual Vacancy in the Office of Town Councillor (Two Wards)

Fleetwood Town Council are hereby giving notice, in accordance with section 87 (2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that TWO casual vacancies have arisen in the office of Councillor for the PARK and WARREN wards of Fleetwood Town Council.

In accordance with Parishes and Communities Rules (S89(5) LGA 1972) an election to fill the vacancy will be held within 60 working days if, within 14 working days of the date hereof, notice in writing of a request for such an election for this vacancy has been given to the Chief Executive of Wyre Borough Council at the Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7PU by ten local government electors in the respective PARK and WARREN wards.

If no such notice is given, the vacancies will be filled by co-option by the Town Council.

Those persons elected or co-opted to fill the vacancies will hold office until the fourth day after the ordinary election of parish councillors in May 2027.
