Welcome to Fleetwood Town Council
We are the local Parish Council for a beautiful coastal town called Fleetwood. We are famous for our panoramic views and our incredible fishing heritage. Here at Fleetwood Town Council, we work to improve the quality of life for the people of Fleetwood. Fleetwood Town Council’s elected and co-opted members represent each ward within Fleetwood and as a corporate body, are responsible for a budget which is used to provide grants to local organisations, fund projects to improve the infrastructure of the community and to support the town’s heritage. We also help fund many other events and projects through our Grant Aid scheme and hope to continue long into the future.
We are still working with Fleetwood Back on Track and the PWRS in getting our rail link up and running again and following endless campaigning by ourselves and our local MP, £100,000 towards a feasibility study was granted.
Fleetwood in Bloom
Fleetwood are previous ‘Gold’ winners with Northwest in Bloom and we’re aiming high again for the future. We are always happy to accept volunteers for planting, deadheading, maintenance and watering. If you like the idea of gardening in a social setting, meeting new people and making new friends or simply love the therapeutic element of gardening please contact our Community Engagement and Development Officer, Lauren Harrison at: [email protected].
We help fund the Fleetwood Festive Lights, keeping Fleetwood shining brightly throughout the Festive Period.
Our annual Lantern Parade and Switch on Event truly is magnificent and provides the town with a wonderfully festive, community feel. The parade consists of residents carrying homemade lanterns, behind a beautifully illuminated tram (courtesy of Blackpool Transport), the Heritage Bus (courtesy of Wyre Borough Council) and Santa in his sleigh (courtesy of Fleetwood Rotary). Additionally, we have local community talent such as the Old Boys’ Band and Starmakers Dance Troupe entertaining the crowds as we venture on. If you pay attention, you will also see festive mascots!
The ‘switch on’ for the festive lights takes place in the Marine Hall Gardens where a local school child, chosen by raffle, switches on the lights. A great free event for all families.
Reusable Pocket Minibins
For the second year now, Fleetwood Town Council continue to supply free reusable pocket minibins to our residents and community. These minibins are perfect for small items of litter than are a real blight on our streets and cause an extremely costly clean-up for our Taxpayers - these items include used chewing gum, cigarette filters and small confectionary wrappers.
If you are interested in being a stockist for our minibins, please contact our Junior Office Administrator, Leah Bennett: [email protected] to put your name down on our distribution list.
Our Larkholme Avenue Allotments site has 22 plots which each vary in size and rent. As per our allotment rules, they have to be 75% cultivated with the additional 25% space being allotted to the keeping of chickens, erecting a shed or having a seating area for example.
We currently have a waiting list for our allotments with new starters being subject to a 3 months’ trial period.
In order to apply, the applicant must be able to provide the following:
- Photo I.D
- A current Council Tax bill

If you would like to be on the waiting list for our allotments, please contact our Community Engagement and Development Officer, Lauren Harrison at: [email protected].
