In October 2026 Fleetwood Town Council hired 2 new members of staff. We have our Assistant Clerk Rebecca Hove and our Administration Assistant Rebekah Sherry. Due to this we have been getting a lot of work prepared and ready for upcoming events alongside Fleetwood Arts CIC. Our biggest project to come will be the Winter Wonderland that will be a full weekend of festive fun and we can't wait to show you all our ideas brought to life!

Earlier this year, our Estates Supervisor Daniel Munro switched the old van for a new electric vehicle which is a lot more economically friendly. You will see Dan out and about helping our Fleetwood In Bloom Committee, painting Fleetwood Town Councils benches, putting up posters and managing all of our notice boards.

Also happening behind the scenes is the whole refurbishment of the old Senior Citizens Hall on Warrenhurst Road. We know at the moment it is an eye sore, but thankfully, due to funding we are slowly but surely making progress. As it stands, we currently have a whole new refurbished toilet area for women and a section for breastfeeding if needed. The men's toilets will be done at a later date. The women's was in a dire state and needed refurbed ASAP. The old Banking Hub is currently being refurbished to create a new office that is warm and welcoming for not only the staff but for the general public if you need to pop in with a concern or help. We will also have a private room for any Councillors to come in at a pre-booked time to hold their surgeries and possibly surgeries from Wyre Council and Lancashire County Council. It will be a while until the hall space is opened up for public use but safety is of the utmost priority, once it is complete we will hold an opening day for all to come and see. We look forward to providing the community with a new warm, safe space that can be used for a variation of ideas and events.

As of January Fleetwood Town Council partnered up with Fleetwood Arts CIC to create Onward Events. So far this year we have only done the Easter egg hunt, but we have been doing a lot of planning behind the scenes for the rest of the year and more for 2027. As usual we will have a Christmas event but this will be over a weekend and it will be called Winter Wonderland we will also be having the annual Firework display. More news to come in the next couple of months about these event so keep an eye on our Facebook account and our website.

Some of our local community groups had their Grant Aids approved by us in 2026 those groups where: Fleetwood Carnival, Fleetwood Civic Society & Royal British Legion Fleetwood Branch. If you need any information regarding Grant Aid please look on our website for the information and the paperwork required to put the application forward.

Rebecca Hove our Assistant Clerk has been working incredibly hard on the Allotment paperwork due to a lot of work not being maintained in the office prior to her starting, this in turn has needed a huge overhaul. The time and dedication this has taken has been astounding, and Rebecca has done a magnificent job. The allotment policies and paperwork can be found on our website if you would like to have a read through and if you are a tenant of one of our allotment please do familiarise yourself with the new Policies & Procedures. Also, because of this overhaul we have managed to rent out more plots to new tenants that had been on the waiting list for many years!
